  • The In-Joke Podcast #17 - Horror Movies: The Sequel

    Notes:

    • Sam Raimi lost the rights to The Evil Dead and couldn’t use any of the footage. So he filmed a simplified version to put at the beginning of the sequel which runs for 7 minutes and 7 seconds.
    • Nova106.9’s website demonstrates their their desire to appear underfunded. Even though the company that owns it is one of the largest media companies in the UK.
    • The actual story behind The Exorcist sequels can be found at the wikipedia page.
    • The planned third Mortal Kombat movie (Mortal Kombat: Devestation) will be a reboot of the film saga. It is currently in development hell.
    • Joshua Jackson’s character in “Dawson’s Creek” is Pacey Witter.
    • It was David Schwimmer, not Matthew Perry, who was referenced along with Jennifer Aniston in “Scream”.

    • Scream 3 features the stars of a Scream-like movie being killed off one by one, not Scream 2.
    • From Deadites online:
      The torn up hills have eyes poster that is visible in the cellar of the basement was placed there in response to the Wes Craven film of the same name, the reason behind it was that in the hills have eyes there was torn poster of the movie Jaws, so Sam and the crew interpreted that Wes Craven was suggesting that the Hills have eyes was much more frightening than Jaws, so in return Sam was suggesting that the Evil Dead was much more frightening than the Hills have eyes by placing that poster in his film.
